Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

Alterations and additions to existing house older than 60 years. Original date of construction - approx 1923. Historical significance - No significance that Im aware of. Architectural significance - Typical Berea style home with Edwardian influences. Urban setting & adjoining Properties - the adjoining houses are all of a similar age and size, that have been added onto and revised in different styles over the years. Some are on quite large properties,whereas some are on small confined plots. There is a block of flats at the end Hazel Road. Motivation - The owner would like to open up her ground floor to give a more free flowing feel to the living area,and thereby opening up the house through to the back garden too. Upstairs we want to revert the enclosed balcony back to an open balcony to how it was previously. Detail alterations - Convert exist cov.entry into a new entrance hall. Changing the windows in the dining room and converting side window to a French door and sidelights. New openings in the lounge thru' to the tv room and revised open plan kitchen. New French doors from the kitchen. Swimming pool shape revised and screenwall repositioned. Wc repositioned. Enclosed balcony reverts back to open balcony.
