Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

Proposed additions and alterations to the existing mess and ablution facility to include a Canteen facility. The existing builidngs are older than 60 years old. There is no record of the exact date when the building was built. It is a face-brick building with painted sash windows. The building has been altered previously. The most recent approval was found in April 2001, when it was approved for use as mess and ablutions by the EThekwini municipality. There has been some internal changed noted, for example, the internal staircase to the mezzanine floor. The buildings are on Transnet land and shall be used for port workers only. There is no access to the public. The development proposal is limited to mainly the interior and shall improve the general condition of the building. The facebrick will be cleaned, windows painted. The work externally include a new steel staircases, a lift for special needs, and a balcony. The external work shall be done to complement the structure and shall not detract the style of the buildings.
