Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Special Notice

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Proposed Additions and Alterations to remainder of portion 5 of ERF 10672 (83sqm) & remainder of portion 10 of ERF 10671 (98sqm), Durban - 24 Parry Road, We proposing a refurbishment to the internal and minor refurbishments to allow for a new proposed boutique hotel and in house restaurant with a roof top seating area.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The current state of the structure remains vacant, the internal finishes has deteriorated over the years and is infested with birds and rodents. Due the the damages to the roof, the floor boards has been removed prior to purchase. 1. We further propose the existing roof be omitted (Which has been deemed not safe by an engineer) to allow for new flat roof with a timber deck above, a bricked parapet wall will be used to seal the area, with minimally invasive rails to overlook the street scape. 2. Existing windows and doors to be replaced to new to match existing. 3. Ground and first floor, to be reinstated to match existing, Note Ground floor cover has been omitted 4. All Waste water and electrical points to be redone, as no infrastructure can be found.
