ProposalDescription:

Rectification of failure to obtain a permit for alterations and additions to the basement store rooms and the outbuilding as well as minor alterations to the main dwelling.

Expanded_Motivation:

The house had been altered over the years by previous owners and the new owner who took occupation in 2005. The lower ground storerooms were converted to a guest suite, entertainment area and TV lounge, and the outbuildings were converted to a granny flat after the owner purchased the property in 2005. The property was generally protected at the time of the alterations and additions as it was over 60 years of age. Prior approval from the heritage authority or the municipality was not obtained. The stores under the house were converted to living spaces and a guest bedroom with of a full bathroom. The entertainment area was extended towards the pool with the addition of a veranda. Some internal alterations to the house were carried out to create an en suite bathroom. The outbuilding was converted to a flat for the owner's daughter.
