ProposalDescription:

Proposed 135 Floor area ratio, 78sqm Coverage extensions to an existing house on Portion 117 (of 9) of Farm Mobeni. Woodlansa, Durban, Ethekwini municipality, Kwazulu Natal Built Environment, Proposed additions and Alterations to an existing house at 3 Bathurst Road, Woodlands; Durban SA. DWG No: 200

Expanded_Motivation:

Woodlands is a suburb located in the southern part of Durban, the second-largest city in South Africa. The locality is located near the biggest port in Africa to its eastern direction. It is adjacent to industrial areas such as Jacobs and Prospecton. Under the Group Areas Act, Woodlands was characterized as a white-only middle and working-class suburbs. We are proposing a Double Storey house that will maintain the design of the existing roof. there's an existing outbuilding. The house at 3 Bathurst road is currently dilapidating due to its old age, eg: the roof tiles are falling off since the trusses and battens are worn out, the current owner wants to extend and fix the house since the family is expanding and they need more rooms for the children and the extended family. Currently, the house has a kitchen, 3 bedrooms a lounge, and a dining area, with a kitchen and scullery The First Floor plan will consist of 3 bedrooms, a Bathroom, and a pajama lounge. Outside there's a proposed double garage to secure the family vehicles. The house's overall look and feel are inspired by the existing it won't stray far from the original house. We will be changing the material to fit the modern standards: eg windows will be aluminium.
