ProposalDescription:

Alterations to 3 Burleigh Place, Durban North. erf 808 of Duiker Fontein. On drawings 1001, 1002 and 101

Expanded_Motivation:

The home has no specific historical value, other than its date of construction and that it has not been largely altered over the years. The site is situated in one of Durban’s residential suburbs. The surrounding properties are all freestanding dwellings. Due to the home’s age and that it has been relatively unaltered over the years it bears witness to a style of home from a previous ear. Hence no defining changes are to be made to the home. The aesthetic and style are to be retained, the alterations planned are aimed simply to allow the family better use of the already defined space. The family that own and live on the property have two young children and want to alter some of the internal spaces to allow for better flow between the different areas. The owners also want to tweak the outdoor spaces to allow them to better embrace our great climate. The primary intention is to partially remove some internal walls to create a more communal living space. They also want to extend their outdoor living area, and remove some of the existing columns, to create a less restrained link to the surrounding garden.
