ProposalDescription:

Unauthorized and proposed additions and alterations to an existing structure which is older than 60 years on Erf 283, Woodside, Pinetown, Durban, Ethekwini, KwaZulu Natal.

Expanded_Motivation:

The building holds no historical significance, it is an AMAFA listing by default, based on the fact that it is older than 60yrs, the original date of construction is 1953. There is no dominant style of architecture, it is a standard residential building with numerous minor changes over time such as conversion of spaces, additional awnings, change of windows, etc... The property is situated in the suburban area of Woodside, and the adjacent neighbouring properties all contain residential buildings as well. Minor alterations to windows and spaces were done by the previous owners which are now being rectified on plan. The property includes a 60sqm Dance Studio (Previously 'Games Room/Study), (Special Consent Ref. LUMS202103290442/IW), to comply with the special consent application, we are proposing a new entrance (set back a minimum of 6.5m from the property boundary) and a one-way 'drop-off' driveway with the existing entrance being the new exit. Additionally we are proposing a new timber staircase for access to the Dance Studio, with adequate screening to reduce noise and converting the 'existing caretakers room' to a 'new dance studio change room'
