ProposalDescription:

Proposed Alterations & Additions to 214 Buitengracht Street, Cape Town, erf 3077 Cape Town, Western Province as shown on architects drawings 1712 DD/401 to 1712 DD/407.

Expanded_Motivation:

Proposed work comprises removing old lightweight partitioning and old toilets, alteration of ground floor for on-site loading and warehousing, creation of a home on the existing top floor and on a new floor with its own mezzanine, 'in the roof' spaces over. Kindly refer to additional document. The heritage significance of the site is recognised and will be enhanced with the removal of badly proportioned natural anodised aluminium windows and replacement with industrial style steel windows. The scale of the new work is in keeping with that of this commercial strip of development which frames the fine scale residential Bo-Kaap precinct.
