Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

C-1 Estimated date of construction : 1955 C-2 Historical Significance : Nil C-3 Architectural Significance : The existing house is a standard single-storey house with a gabled clay tiled roof, it has no architectural detailing. C-4 Urban setting and adjoining properties : No. 10 is situated on a circular residential road, it has a public-open space across the road and has similar single-storey dwellings adjoining. It is bound by a Newport Avenue property at the rear. Adjoining neighbours have increased the size of the dwellings and improved the boundary walls and gates. D-2 Motivation : The owners wish to alter the internal layout of the house and add a covered entertainment area on the East side. They also wish to replace the boundary fence with a wall. D-3 Detail the alterations/ additions proposed : Add a new dining area Existing veranda roof to be demolished. Add a new (sheet roof) covered veranda to the East side Alter the existing bathrooms and make a study and playroom Alter the existing kitchen, scullery and laundry Extend the existing entrance hall and add a pergola structure. Remove existing windows and replace with new p.c.aluminium frame windows and external doors in new positions. Add a new double garage with tiled roof to match existing house. Existing garage to be converted to a study.
