Development Type:

ProposalDescription:

The proposed development of a 132/11kV substation, a 132kV power line, and associated infrastructure on the Remaining Extent of the Farm Kwaggafontein No. 2300, Bloemfontein Registration Division (RD), Free State Province.

Expanded_Motivation:

The proposed project entails the development of new electrical infrastructure supplying Langenhovenpark and the new upcoming Cecilia Park residential areas on the western outskirts of Bloemfontein. Bloemfontein has experienced rapid growth during recent years, more recently, extensive residential development in the Langenhovenpark area. Numerous new developments are still being planned in Langenhovenpark and its surrounds. This proposal entails the construction of a 132kV double circuit power line from the existing Harvard substation to the new proposed 132/11kV Cecilia substation. The proposed power line will run alongside the existing high voltage electrical lines, which is currently supplying electricity to the Langenhovenpark residential area. It is believed that the proposed supply configuration will address the capacity concerns in terms of present and estimated future load growth of Langenhovenpark and the proposed Cecilia Park residential areas.
