Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Proposed expansion of Clydesdale Cemetery, Umzimkhulu Municipality KZN

Expanded_Motivation: 

Clydesdale currently has an existing cemetery site which has reached its burial capacity. The proposed cemetery site would entail the expansion of the existing site to the south and east by approximately 2 hectares (2ha). The site is located approximately 12km south west of the Umzimkhulu central business district, in ward 17 of the Umzimkhulu Municipality. The proposed site is located adjacent to the R56 road, to the south of Clydesdale. Taking both current and future calculated population statistics, the proposed cemetery establishment has been planned to provide burial sites which will cater to the Clydesdale and nearby communities for the next twenty (20) years. The project is aimed to provide a burial location in close proximity for the local community, so as to prevent ‘back yard burials’ and also to help reduce the need to travel to district cemetery sites. The cemetery establishment aims to cater for the cultural needs within the municipal area. The site can be found at 30°18'7.17"S 29°56'32.67"E.
