Development Type:

ProposalDescription:

Eskom is proposing to build a 14km 11kV powerline and dismantle the existing Cuprum Kronos powerline. The proposed powerline will run parallel to the existing powerline, within the same servitude. The proposed powerline will transverse between three farms and supply power to customers in the Copperton area, near Prieska in the Northern Cape.

Expanded_Motivation:

The proposed powerline will be planted approximately 11m apart from the existing powerline on the same servitude. Due to the existence of farm and servitude roads, the area is already disturbed. Therefore, the erection of the proposed powerline will not have any significant impact on heritage resources.
