Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Isolendalo Environmental Consulting has been appointed by uMsinga Local Municipality as an Independent Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to undertake a Basic Assessment (BA) in terms of National Environmental Management Act (Act No. 107 of 1998) and in terms of EIA Regulations 2014 (As Amended) for a proposed upgrade and development of Ngconco Access Road in a rural location called Etembeni Mission Location (Ward 11) situated under the Jurisdiction of Msinga Local Municipality and uMzinyathi District Municipality in Tugela Ferry, KwaZulu Natal. The proposed development entails work on a road where some portions of the road have tracks and the other have no tracks and therefore the activity titled a proposed upgrade and development. Furthermore, the proposed development entails an installation of 21 precast concrete pipes and 2 concrete slabs within watercourses and therefore a total of 23 crossings will be affected by this development. There are currently no structures on the crossings as there is no formal road. Proposed Road Specification: Msinga Local Municipality is proposing an upgrade and development of Ngconco Access Road where 1.6 km has existing road tracks 1.6 km road and has no tracks 1.95 km. Therefore, the total length of the road to be upgraded and developed is 3.55 km. The Total width of the proposed road is 5 m. The proposed activity will cross over a small crossings where precast concrete pipes and concrete slabs will be installed within the small crossings.  The proposed road will be upgraded and developed to a 7A type of gravel.  The total length of the road is 3.55 km  The width of the road is 5 m

Expanded_Motivation: 

Msinga Local Municipality is proposing an upgrade and development of Ngconco access road under ward 11 in Msinga. A pre- application was conducted with the Department and one of the requirements for EDTEA was to contact Amafa to provide comments for the proposed.
