Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

The municipality has identified a farm portion situated near Gwangwatini Village for the demarcation of 50 sites. Ngoti Development Consultants have been appointed by the Thulamela Local Municipality for the demarcation of 50 sites on a portion of the farm 439-MT (Gwangwatini), Limpopo Province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The need for formal housing in Thulamela Local Municipality’s area of jurisdiction is highlighted by the extent of informal settlements that are taking place in various areas within the Municipality.There is an urgent need to provide housing and serviced even at the major employment center of the Municipality to combat the unplanned development in Thulamela Local Municipality, the development promotes “Sustainable Human Settlement” in line with BNG principles as it provides human habitation with supporting social facilities. The development adheres to the government’s call for more to be done for the poor through the development of houses that provides a sense of security to the needy; and the development will make it possible for the built-up area to be included on the municipal valuation roll. The proposed development is also in line with all National, Provincial, and Municipal development policies.
