Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Demolition of fire damaged building and proposed replacement buildings at 180 Church street Rem of Ptn2 of erf 2518, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.

Expanded_Motivation: 

A permit is requested to demolish existing unsafe structures on the three adjacent sites and to stabilise the facade of 182 as per Vigar and Associates letter dated 15/02/2022. Refer to motivation of Form H for each of the applications for 180,182,184 Church st. Proposed replacement shops are in the planning stage. Proposed reconstruction drawings have been submitted on 09/03/2022 showing the structures as they were before the fire and proposed changes to the layout and structure to be carried out during reconstruction. The roof design has been rationalised to avoid box gutters between properties and all windows and shopfronts are proposed in aluminium frame rather than replacement of the original wooden frames. The structural system is concrete and masonry construction with timber trusses and steel rafters. Drawing number : 3861-27 and 4265-Rev2 As-Built Drawing number 4265-10180/2
