Development Type:

ProposalDescription:

Dismantle a portion of line from RESY 8-234 up to RESY 8-251 and Re-route the dismantled portion from Resy 8-234 up to Resy 8-251, by moving line closer to N6 as. The new path of the line will be 5km from Resy 8-233 to Resy 8-252. Dismantle a portion of line from Resy 8-242 up to Resy 8-242-9. Connect Resy 8-242-10 point to the new build line ,to be able to supply the customer at Resy 8-242-19. Proposed project in Reddersburg area, Farm Middelfontein 198, Kopanong local municipality, Free State.

Expanded_Motivation:

The feeder was identified as one of the Pareto feeders for 2014-2015.It is one of the feeders in free-state operating unit with high System interference and frequent faults. There is a problem of accessibility at RESY 8 T-off, between Resy8-233 and Resy 8-252.The two bridges that Customer Network Centre used to cross the river have both collapsed. The portion along the river makes it very risky to do line patrol at night during rainy seasons. Eskom is therefore planning on rerouting the power line closer to the N6 for better access to the line for maintenance. 156 rural electricity customers are affected by this power line.
