Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Eskom Tahiti-fontein powerline re-route (TF Feeder)

Proposed re-routing of the Tahiti-Fontein powerline with most of the line running along the same servitude and dismantiling of the old structures of the Tahiti-fontein feeder. Build new powerline to replace the line to be dismantled.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The Eskom Tahiti-Fontein powerline was identified by Eskom maintainance and operations as a line that needs to be repaired as some of the structures are damaged and also a portion of the line is no longer needed for supply of electricity as some of the customers are no longer on the Eskom network.

Fenced and marked grave site close to proposed pole TF 108-135-13 approximately 20m from the closest grave to the line.
Marked graves inside Grootfontein farm, the graves are approximately 22m from the farm fence and the proposed pole is to be placed just outside of the farm fence
Grave site allocated less than 10m from existing pole TF 108-146, no excavations to occur in this area to ensure that there are no disturbances to the graves. Same pylons will be used to the new powerline.
