Development Type:

ProposalDescription:

Aurecon intends to construct the powerline for the above-mentioned project for the Polokwane Municipality. The powerline will include 504m MV line which will be connected to the existing Municipality Powerline in the area (refer to the Span plan sheets, the Pegging Coordinates and the Google Earth KML file for more information) traversing Pelgrimshoop 606 LS , in Polokwane Local Municipality in the Capricorn District of the Limpopo Province. The purpose of this powerline is for water pumps from boreholes along the Blood River

Expanded_Motivation:

The project area falls between the Light Industrial Yards of Seshego and a small Stream. The Area is heavily degraded due to pirot dumping taking place (Building Rubble) and other services already occupying the area, and subsistance farming, Sewerage Pipe lines, Powerlines and security fences. Aurecon Consultants request the Heritage Compliance Agency to exempt this project from full heritage assessment studies or any further AIA/HIA studies and grant us permission to proceed with the development as proposed. However, should any of the heritage resources, including graves or human remains be encountered or discovered during construction, Polokwane Municipality shall immediately cease construction, inform SAHRA office, other relevant Department and as soon as possible contract a professional archaeologist to inspect the findings and conduct investigation as prescribed by the Act. The purpose for this project is for water pumps in the area
