Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

ProposalDescription: 

Erven 10 000, 452, 474 and 814 of the Harding Township make up the project area. The proposed site is located within Ward 3 of the Umuziwabantu Local Municipality and has a total extent of approximately 34.15 hectares. The project area is currently vacant, and the northern site boundary is adjacent to the N2 Highway. There are no CBAs or protected areas located within the site. An unchanneled valley-bottom wetland traverse the central portion of the site and drainage lines are located partially along the northern, western and southern portions of the site.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The proposed development entails the consolidation and redevelopment of the existing erven in line with the municipality’s densification framework. The proposed Harding township establishment entails the construction of the following: • Approximately 342 BNG residential units • Approximately 210 social housing units • Pipelines for the transportation of water supply and waterborne sewage • Internal roads and stormwater infrastructure It should be noted that erven will be set aside for a health, commercial, open space and conservation land uses.
