Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Special Notice

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

ProposalDescription: 

Proposed Development of the 325MW Kudusberg Wind Energy Facility and associated infrastructure, between Matjiesfontein and Sutherland in the Western and Northern Cape Provinces. Please be advised that a separate SAHRIS case was created for the Oya WEF section (namely Case 15789) by the Heritage specialist and the relevant documents were uploaded to the case. A notification email was also sent in this regard. However, this case does not include the Kudusberg WEF section and only deals with the Oya WEF section. A SAHRIS case was created for the original Kudusberg WEF project (prior to this proposed amendment being undertaken) and is on SAHRIS as Case 13208, however, neither SiVEST nor the Heritage specialist have access to editing rights on this case as it was created by the EAP who undertook the original BA process for the Kudusberg WEF. Therefore, as requested by SAHRA, a new SAHRIS case has been created for the Kudusberg WEF section of the proposed project (this case) and deals with the Kudusberg WEF section.
