Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Letaba Julesburg double circuit 22 kV Powerline

ProposalDescription: 

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, Limpopo Operating Unit (LOU) intends to construct the powerline for the above-mentioned project. The powerline will include MV which will be connected to the existing powerline in the area (refer to the Span plan sheets and the Pegging Coordinates for more information) Dan village, GreaterTzaneen local Municipality of the Limpopo Province. Environmental Screening of the powerline route was conducted during mapping of the village and pegging of the route the by Survey team and site verification by Environmental Practitioner which lead to the generation of the servitude planning documents [Distribution Environmental Screening Document (DESD), Wayleave, Span plan and Pegging coordinates attached for your reference

Expanded_Motivation: 

The new powerline route is along the existing servitude of Letaba Risenga 66kV powerline, which was authorized by Department of fishery, Forestry and Environment where an environmental Authorisation was issued. Phase 1 study was conducted during the Basic Assessment Process. Phase I Heritage Impact Assessment Study report is attached under additional documents. The HIA study dated February 2023 is attached.
