Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

The proposed Magdalena Colliery Discard Dump Extension, farm Magdalena No. 7574 and Portion 1 of the farm Mooidoorn Hoek No.3722 , Dundee,Dannhauser Municipality, Amajuba District Municipality, KwaZulu Natal.

Expanded_Motivation: 

Magdalena Colliery is an existing coal mine with an approved Environmental Management Programme (EMP) in accordance with the Minerals Petroleum Resource Development Act (Act 28 of 2002) (MPRDA). However, it is now the intention of Zinoju Coal (Pty) Ltd to extend the site’s discard dump in order to accommodate the operational life of the company’s mining operations at the Magdalena and Aviemore collieries. The proposed discard dump is planned to be extended from 3.3ha to 39ha. The extension area including the proposed paddocks, solution trench, access roads and return water dams will be approximately 36ha in extent. The properties included in the discard dump extension include farm Magdalena No. 7574 and Portion 1 of the farm Mooidoorn Hoek No.3722 in the Town of Dundee, Amajuba District Municipality, Dannhauser Municipality, KwaZulu Natal.
