Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Draft Scoping Report for the establishment of a sand and clay mine with associated infrastructure, the abstraction of water for washing sand and clay, the storage of water for washing plant activities, temporary storage of water as well as mining activities within close proximity of water resources. The mine will be located on Portion 0 of the Farm Papkuilfontein 469 JR in Bronkhorstspruit, Mpumalanga Province.

The application for environmental authorisation is in line with the following legislation and associated activities: National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act 107 of 1998) [as amended] and Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2010): Government Notice 544 Activities: 18 and 22 Government Notice 545 Activities: 15 and 20 Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act. 28 of 2002): In terms of Section 22 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act No. 28 of 2002) a mining right has been applied for. National Water Act, 1998 (Act 36 of 1998): An application for an integrated water use license is lodged in terms of Section 21 of the National Water Act, 1998 (Act 36 of 1998) to undertake the following activities: (a) taking water from a water resource; (b) storing water; (c) impeding or diverting the flow of water in a watercourse; (g) disposing of waste in a manner which may detrimentally impact on a water resource; and (i) altering the bed, banks, course or characteristics of a watercourse.
