ProposalDescription:

Scope of Work ▪ Construct new 44km of 3-ph 33kV MV Hare overhead line from Planted pole (outside Mmabatho Main Sub) until pole no: ACS-MAL 380. ▪ Lay ±100m of 300mm² 3C XLPE Al cable to cross 88kV Lines and 33kV Line. ▪ Install 1 x Auto-reclosers in accordance to D-DT-1829 at newly installed pole before pole no: ACS-MAL 380. ▪ Create a normal open (N/O) at pole no: ACS-MAL 379. ▪ Create a normal open (N/O) at pole no: ACS-MAL 380. ▪ Close the span/connect to the Gantry at Mmabatho Main Substation. ▪ Stencil new feeder and re-stencil entire ACS-MAL feeder with new name.

Expanded_Motivation:

Background • Mmabatho main Substation is equipped with 2 x 88/33kV 20MVA Transformers and 2 x 88/11kV 30MVA transformers. • The substation supplies Mmabatho CBD and surrounding surbubs and it also supplies Vryburg Road, Army Camp and Ramatlabama Substations. • The 33kV Army Camp Mabule (ACS-MAL) feeder is fed from Mmabatho Main Substation via Army Camp Substation. This feeder loop in and out at Army Camp Substation then to Mabule. There is T-off to Ramatlabama Substation. • There is large numbers of customers (5158) in the Army Camp Mabule (ACS-MAL) feeder. There is a need to strengthen the Mabatho Main Mabule 33kV reticulation network. • The project will split the Army Camp Mabule feeder into two feeders thus will create back-feed and minimising the impact on performance (SAIDI).
