It is envisaged that the proposed construction associated of the involved ± 6km section of the planned provincial road K147 will be implemented in phases. At this stage the phasing of the road will be as follows: Phase 1: Constructing one lane per direction from Garsfontein Road up to the existing access to The Hills at Atterbury Road in the north-east. Phase 2: Constructing one lane per direction of the proposed K147 from Delmas Road (in the south-west) up to its intersection with Garsfontein Road in the north-east. Intersections along the abovementioned route will also be upgraded. The application will address all development phases of the road (Route Determination, Preliminary Design and Detail Design) depending on the existing and future planning status of the involved section of the proposed Road K147. The road upgrades could also require the relocation of services/the implementation of temporary or permanent service roads/alternative accesses to properties. At this stage it is envisaged that the proposed road construction will occur on various Portions of the Farms Rietfontein 375 JR, Rietvallei 377 JR, Grootfontein 394 JR and it could also affect townships, erven, agricultural holdings and developments situated along the involved section of the proposed new road. Three route alignments alternatives are being considered for the section of the road which stretches in between Delmas Road and the K50 (Garsfontein Road). The red line represents the Preferred Alternative, the blue line represents Alternative 1 and the green line represents Alternative 2.
