Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

The proposed construction Non-Motorised Transport (NMT) Training and Recreational Park is located on the Remainder of Portion 10 of Farm Sterkloop 688LS adjacent to the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane,

Expanded_Motivation: 

Limpopo Province. It is located within the jurisdiction of the City of Polokwane Local Municipality within the greater Capricorn District Municipality. The proposed project entails the construction of the NMT Recreational park with the following main activities: Phase 1: Facilities on the eastern portion o Children’s cycle track; o Children’s playground; o Mountain bike trails and walkways; o Parking area; o Fence around facility; o Entrance building with security, o Fee office; o Restaurant; o Shops; o Ablution facilities o Limited landscaping; o Cycle park; and o Area lighting. Phase 2: Facilities on the western portion o BMX track; o Pavilion; o Velodrome cycle track with pavilion and possible roof structure; and o Astroturf hockey field within the velodrome. The proposed NMT Park has a footprint of approximately 22ha and the proposed Park will cover an extent of approximately 8.8ha. Access to the study site will be gained via the existing Stadium Link 8 Street while a paved road with a width of 7m will also be established within the NMT Park. It must also be noted that Magazyn Street runs through the proposed study site and can also be used in order to gain access.
