Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

The purpose of this document is to provide all interested and affected parties (I&APs) with information about the proposed National Treasure Minerals (Pty) Ltd prospecting right application in terms of (MPRDA) on portions 4, 5, 6, 7, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 25 of the farm Elandsfontein 102 JQ and in respect of portions 70, 85 and 103 of the farm Boschoek 103 JQ situated in the Bojanala District Municipality within the Rustenburg Local Municipality, Northwest Province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

National Treasure Minerals (Pty) Ltd (the applicant) applied for a prospecting right for chrome ore, gold ore, platinum group metals, silver ore and vanadium ore in respect of portions 4, 5, 6, 7, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 25 of the farm Elandsfontein 102 JQ and in respect of portions 70, 85 and 103 of the farm Boschhoek 103 JQ, situated in the Bojanala district municipality, Rustenburg local municipality, North West Province. The proposed project aims at determining if economically viable mineral deposits exist within the application area. In order to undertake prospecting activities, the applicant, requires a Prospecting Right in terms of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA, Act No.28 of 2002). The applicant is also required to obtain an Environmental Authorisation (EA) in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA, Act No. 107 of 1998) which involves the submission of a Basic Assessment Report (BAR). Eco Elementum (Pty) Ltd (Eco Elementum) has been appointed by National Treasure Minerals (Pty) Ltd (NTM) to compile the Basic Assessment Report (BAR) (this report) in support of the Prospecting Right application.
