ProposalDescription:

Permit application for the proposed export of a 90mm shell and casing to be exported to the Rhodesian Lion & Tusk Museum in New Zealand.

Expanded_Motivation:

Export of 90mm cannon shell and projectile (inert) to New Zealand. I have offered this to the Rhodesian Lion & Tusk Museum as a donation and all freight costs etc to be carried by me. They have accepted this. It is military memorabilia with no value. The shell and casing are being sent as a donation to the museum's collection. Their full details are :- The Lion & Tusk Museum of the Rhodesian Services Association, unit 10, 14 Portside drive, Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. I attach their letter of acceptance as well as my offer letter. The history of this item is as follows :- This was used by the Rhodesian Forces during the bush war from approximately 1970 to 1980. The cannon was mounted on the Eland armoured car manufactured in South Africa under license from Panhard in France. These vehicles were supplied to the Rhodesian Army. I attach photographs of the shell and projectile. The shell has the insignia of the Rhodesian Armoured Car Regiment affixed to it.
