ProposalDescription:

The Hammarsdale High Level Reservoir is currently supplied from Georgedale Reservoir via a 225mm diameter and 400mm diameter pipeline respectively. The demands at Hammarsdale Reservoir are projected to increase from 7.7 Ml/day presently to 13.9 Ml/day in 2036. Both reservoirs and pipeline are owned and managed by the eThekwini Municipality. The eThekwini Municipality therefore proposes that in order to meet the projected demand, a 500 mm diameter pipeline be constructed that will come off the Western Aqueduct system to supply the Hammarsdale Reservoir with a more direct supply. Two pipeline route alternatives will considered for the pipeline
