Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

ProposalDescription: 

A basic assessment process is being followed for environmental authorisation (EA). The EA is being applied for the proposed development of up to 400 kV transmission line and a switching station located approximately 15 to 26 km east of the town of De Aar, Northern Cape Province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The draft BA Report (Arcus, September 2020) was subjected to a 30 day comment period from the 19 October 2020 to the 17 November 2020 (both days inclusive). During the public comment period the application process was suspended. The draft BA Report (Arcus, April 2021) was then updated slightly and subjected to another 30 day comment period from the 22 April to the 24 May 2021 (both days inclusive). Both public participation processes took into consideration Chapter 2 Regulation 3 (1); (2) and (3) of the NEMA, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998). The Final BAR was submitted to the DFFE on 15 June 2021 for a decision. With reference to the this Case ID please be advised that the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) has decided to grant Environmental Authorisation (EA) to the Applicant. The EA was issued on 10 August 2021.
