Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Polygon Environmental Planning CC has been appointed to conduct a Basic Environmental Assessment (BA) for the proposed establishment of a measuring weir in the Great Letaba River below the Tzaneen Dam wall, on Portion 105 of the farm Pusela 555-LT and Portion 7 of the farm Doornhoek 535-LT, Tzaneen. The weir is required in order to accurately measure outflow from the Tzaneen Dam once the raising of the dam wall (which is currently underway) has been completed. The project proponent / applicant is the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS). A BA is required to be conducted in accordance with the EIA Regulations (2014, as amended) as published in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA, Act No. 107 of 1998, as amended). The following activities in the Regulations are anticipated to be triggered: Listing Notice 1 Activity 19; and Listing Notice 3 Activity 12(e)iii. An application for environmental authorisation will be submitted to the national Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA). Limpopo Province.
