Development Type:

ProposalDescription:

THE PROPOSED UPGRADE OF THE INJISUTHI RIVER BRIDGE IN THE EMOYENI AREA WITHIN THE IMBABAZANE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY UNDER UTHUKELA DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY KWAZULU-NATAL.

Expanded_Motivation:

The proposed construction of the Injisuthi River Bridge forms part of the Department of Transport KZN’s ongoing strategy to improve rural mobility and provide safer and more efficient pedestrian and vehicle movement in rural areas. At present community members have only an existing single lane vehicular access bridge across the Little Tugela River which does not cater for pedestrians. The Department of Transport KZN assessed the feasibility of the proposed new bridge and attempted to meet the requirements of the community. The bridge will improve access to the Mjwayeli Primary School, Bonokuhle High School, Injisuthi Clinic and local villages.
