Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Expanded_Motivation: 

I have been appointed by Premier Foods to make an urgent application for three new 4000ton silos to supplement the current storage capacity at the site in the light of the pending global food shortage which is expected to affect wheat and grains. A site on the SW side of the existing silos has been chosen (see site plan) The decision was made on 10/12/2021 and construction was started on 01/02/2022, expected completion date is 29/07/2022. A Heritage Impact Assessment was prepared in 2017 for previous development on the site, it covers the history of the site and existing structures. See attached SUBSTANTIATION REPORT-RevB dated 25/03/2022 and Appendixes A-H for timelines, current photographs and motivation for the proposal and reasons for commencing construction.
