ProposalDescription:

The KwaDukuza Municipality wishes to upgrade approximately 1.2km of gravel road / track in Ward 25 of KwaDukuza Local Municipality. The upgrade will involve the hard topping, widening and minor realignments of the existing 3m wide Ekamu Road to a 5.5m road with 1.5m shoulders on either side. Associated works will include the installation of appropriate storm water drainage systems and the upgrading of an existing watercourse crossing. The upgrading of the watercourse crossing triggers the need for a Basic Assessment EIA to be undertaken for this component of the project. The client has received confirmation from the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Affairs (DAEA) that they may proceed with construction of the components of the project which do not require Environmental Authorisation.
