Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Q4 Fuel Depot Project APPLICATION TO RECTIFY THE UNLAWFUL COMMENCEMENT OR CONTINUATION OF LISTED ACTIVITIES IN TERMS OF SECTION 24G OF THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT (NO 107 OF 1998) The extension of the fuel depot will be on Erf 2265, of the existing Rustenburg Extension 9, situated in the Rustenburg Local Municipality, North West Province. The project is on approximately 2.1633 hectares of land. The Surveyor-general 21-digit site (erf/farm/portion) reference number is T0JQ00270000226500000.

Expanded_Motivation: 

Setala Environmental (Pty) Ltd was appointed by Q4 Fuel Rustenburg (Pty) Ltd as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to undertake the required environmental assessment and associated stakeholder engagement process for the expansion of their fuel depot. This environmental assessment was done in terms of Section 24G of the National Environmental Management Act 107 of 1998 (NEMA), to recertify and undertake the listed activities in terms of Government Notice Regulation (GNR) 983: 51 and 67 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) regulations. The EAP was appointed to facilitate the NEMA S24G rectification application for the unlawful commencement of this activity. The developer commenced with the site preparations for the activity by constructing one of the bunded areas, inclusive of the separator tank, as well as the pillars of the canopy of the forecourt. Planned/ proposed activities • Five above ground storage tanks, each having a storage capacity of 83m³ (equating to a total of 415m³) • One above ground storage tank, having a storage capacity of 23m³ (equating to a total of 23m³), • One above ground storage tank, having a storage capacity of 14m³ (equating to a total of 14m³) will be installed. The combined capacity of the proposed new fuel tanks on site will thus be 452m³. The total combined storage capacity on site will thus not exceed 500m³ (cubic metres).
