Development Type:

ProposalDescription:

The proposed development will entail installation of street light and will have a length/span of 288m. The lighting will operate on a dimming cycle (through a timer and not photo-sensor or motion-sensor). It will switch on at dusk to 100% and start dimming 20:00, completely switching off at 22:00. At 04:00 it will switch back on at 100% and dim down every hour until they switch off completely at 07:00. this means that between 22:00 and 04:00 the lights will be completely off.

Expanded_Motivation:

According to Section 38 (1) of the National Heritage Resources Act (Act 25 of 1999), where relevant, an Impact Assessment must be undertaken in case where a development exceed 300m in length. Thus, the proposed development is not a listed activity in that it does not trigger Section 38 of the Act mentioned above. On that note, we thus request exception from conducting an impact assessment.
