Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

ProposalDescription: 

Eskom has been requested by Greater Taung Local Municipality to electrifiy 100 houses at Ranstad Ext village. Among the proposed house connections, there are houses that have existing electricity. However, due to the orientation and unrealibility of the existing infrastructure, the houses will be reconnected on the new grid, and the old infrastructure will be dismantled. The proposed development will entail construction of 22kV (Medium Voltage) power line of approximately 1157m, construct Low Voltage and connect houses. The proposed development falls within the Greater Taung Local Munic in North West province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The proposed development of power line is more than 300m in length. This development triggers section 38 (1) of the National Heritage Resources Act, 25 of 1999. The area has been developed already and has existing infrastructure such as gravel road, tar road, water pipelines, high light masts, power lines, bridges, pit toilets and water pump station.
