Changes to SAHRIS!

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Our company has been appointed by Glencore South Africa (PTY) Ltd (iMpunzi) to affect the relocation of 7 graves located in an informal burial ground located on Portion 12 of the farm Klipplaat 14 IS and Portion 6 of Portion 1 of the farm Kromfontein 30 IS, near Kriel, Mpumalanga Province.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The physical social consultation process commenced on Friday, 13 April 2018. Of the 7 graves, three dates of death is known by the family, while 2 graves are claimed by family, but the date of death is not known, therefore 4 graves are assumed to be older than 60 years old as stipulated in the National Heritage Act (Act 25 of 1999). • APL (6 graves) at GPS coordinates: -26.058281⁰, 29.199482⁰ This area contains 6 graves located on portion 12 of the farm Klipplaat 14 IS, near Kriel, Mpumalanga Province. The graves have been disturbed on the surface by mining activities. Five of the graves has been claimed by the Mashiane and Mothogwane families and will be reburied at the Kromdraai Municipal Cemetery. The one grave not claimed by any next-of-kin will also be reburied at the Kromdraai Municipal Cemetery. • APM 4 (1 grave) at GPS coordinates: -26.117667⁰, 29.226861⁰ This area contains 1 grave located on portion 6 of portion 1 of the farm Kromfontein 30 IS, near Kriel, Mpumalanga Province. The grave has not been claimed by any next-of-kin (NoK) and will be reburied at the Kromdraai Municipal Cemetery. Mosaic Funeral Group will be responsible for the handling and reburial of the exhumed human remains.
