Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Proposed temporary export of the 'Malay Bride' by Irma Stern for sale at an auction held by Bonhams Auction House, London.

Expanded_Motivation: 

(Original permanent export application was declined in June 2013) Ms Penny Culverwell has applied for a temporary export permit for a painting by Irma Stern titled 'The Malay Bride' to be exported to Bonhams in London. This follows a permanent export permit application which was declined by the Permit Committee on 10 June 2013. Please note that the artwork will return to South Africa on 20 September 2013 after its exhibition to potential buyers in London (Bonhams Auction House). When it has returned, it will be further exhibited at the Everard Read Gallery in Johannesburg from 25 September 2013 till the Auction takes place on 02 October 2013.
