ProposalDescription:

Waste water reticulation system, Ntuzuma C, eThekwini, KZN

Expanded_Motivation:

Ntuzuma C, situated 12km north of the Durban city centre, does not have water borne sewerage with residents being dependent on pit latrines and septic / conservancy tanks for sanitation purposes. In certain instances, the pit latrines and septic / conservancy tanks are constructed on rocky terrain in close proximity (<15m) to the Matafana river and its tributaries. This poses a pollution risk to the watercourse. A waterborne sewer system is proposed to eliminate the pollution risk posed by the pit latrines and septic / conservancy tanks. The proposed sewerage reticulation will be 1.7km in length.
