Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

The proposed prospecting activities will be undertaken in respect with the remaining extent and portion 01 of the farm LEEUW KUIL 75 within matzikama Local Municipality under the Jurisdiction of West Coast District Municipality in Western Cape Province. The proposed site is located approximately about 50 Kilometres north east of Nuwerus town.

Expanded_Motivation: 

Tambuka Pty Ltd applied for a prospecting right in terms of section 16 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act No. 28 of 2002) (MPRDA) and is also applying for authorisation of listedactivities in terms of sections 24 and 24D of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act no. 107 of1998) (NEMA), Both invasive and non-invasive methods will be implemented. Invasive are those activities whichhave footprint or cause harm (if not mitigated or managed properly) or those that have a physical impact on the environment, while non-invasive do not cause any harm or effects on the environment.
