Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

It is proposed to establish a township on an area of 5,83 ha for the purposes of a shopping complex. The area is under cultivation with mango orchards and has been for many years. White River, Mpumalanga

Expanded_Motivation: 

The township will entail: - 1 erf with a ‘Business1’ zoning (4,92 ha) for the purposes of a shopping complex; - 1 Special erf for the purposes of motor dealing and motor related uses including a workshop (0,69 ha) - Access and private road An outfall sewer will be constructed to link with existing sewer infrastructure further south of the site. This line will traverse the R40 and private properties. It will be aligned on the boundary of the properties to be traversed if a servitude does not exist. There is an approved access from the R537 and provision is made for access from the R40. No signs of archaeological or cultural importance was found during site visits. The area falls in the grey category on the paleo map. See attached photos under additional information.
