It is further believed that the occupier was related to Gen Lafras Uys who was in command of the Utrecht Commando during the Anglo Boer War and who probably resided on the adjacent farm known as Bruwersrus. Additional information will follow after consultation wirh the local Museum curator and a previous farm owner who resides in Vryheid. Architectural significance: Built with dressed sand stone and blue hard rock external walls.
