Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

About the Survey: 

First survey of Pompieshoek owned by Paul Honig. Dennis Buckland had found 3 sites prior to our visit and these were formally recorded by one of the eCRAG groups led by Janette Deacon. Group 2 was led by Rika du Plessis to the east of the old mining compound along a jeep track clearly marked on the topographic maps. Group 3 was led by Nic Wiltshire to the south of the mining compound along the west and east banks of the Leeurivier. The GPS tracks come from Nic's GPS and the other survey areas are based on manually drawn polygons.
