On day one (Friday 17 October), we started at the main kraal (WHK1) and split into two groups, one either side of the river. We ended about 2km downstream just after a bend to the west in the river.
On day two we took our vehicles to the 'kraal' marked on the 1:50k map where a neighbouring property owner has stowed a caravan in the middle of the veld. We walked down to the Doring River from there and surveyed upstream for 5km to where we finished the day before.

Overall the quality of the rock art was not particularly good as the rock is exfoliated in many places. The high water mark of the Doring is also evident from the blackened stained rocks - this no doubt is a major factor behind the poor preservation of paintings. There are various spots with mainly hornfels artefacts and we found a great location of hornfels cores in the Doring River.
