Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

This permit is issued to Dr Wendy Black in collaboration with Dr Enrico Cappellini and Prof. Rebecca R. Ackerman for the sampling and export of 70 samples of  Later Stone Age and Late Pleistocene Khoesan dental calculus for analysis to be carried out the Centre for Geogenetics at the University of Copenhagen. 

Conditions: 

The specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers.

  1. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of Dr Wendy Black who is responsible for the export of the samples. 
  2. The material must be hand carried or sent via a reputable professional courier service unless written instructions to the contrary have been received from the repositories where the material are curated. 
  3. The samples must be kept for study purposes only, and may not be sold or exchanged.
  4. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than to Dr Enrico Cappellini at the Centre for Geogenetics, University of Copenhagen.
  5. Samples not used for analysis must be returned to South Africa.
  6. A report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before the end of January 2016.
  7. Copies of any papers that may result from the export of the material must be lodged with SAHRA. 
  8. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  9. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
