Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

This series of fossil sites is one of the most important in the world for the study of human evolution in the context of changing ecological and biological processes. Collectively, they are of national and international significance because they encapsulate a superbly preserved record of the fauna that lived in this part of southern Africa over the past 4 million years, including an invaluable record of stages in the emergence and evolution of our early ancestors and their relatives
