Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Proposal for ZooMS feasibility study

This permit is issued to Dr Justin Bradfield to export thirteen fragments of animal bone for Zooarchaeology by Mass Spectrometry (ZooMS) analyses. The analyses are to be done at the University of York under the guidance of Professors Matthew Collins and Jane Thomas-Oates.

Conditions: 

  1. The permit is issued to Dr Justin Bradfield for the temporary export of animal bone fragments from the following sites, Jubilee Shelter, Goergap Shelter, Little Muck Shelter, Broederstroom, De Hoop, Schroda, K2 and Mapungubwe . The material will undergo ZooMS analyses at the University of York. 
  2. The objects or specimens must be clearly marked with accession numbers.
  3. The material must be carefully packed and all packaging must be clearly marked with the accession numbers, the name of the site, and the name and address of Prof. Collins or the curating institutions.
  4. The material must be sent via a reputable professional courier service or hand carried unless written instructions to the contrary have been received from the curating institutions.
  5. The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than Prof. Collins at the University of York without the consent of SAHRA.
  6. The material shall be returned to South Africa on or before the end of May 2016.
  7. SAHRA must be notified in writing of the return of the material, and a report on the activities undertaken in terms of this permit must be lodged with SAHRA before the end of May 2016.
  8. Copies of all papers or publications resulting from this permit must be lodged with SAHRA.
  9. SAHRA shall not be liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as a result of any activities in connection with this permit.
  10. SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit by notice to the permit holder.
