Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

  • A new & modernised look and layout
  • Improved site usage flows with respect to applications and content creation
  • Improved site performance and stability

Launch for the new version of SAHRIS occurred on Monday the 30th of October 2023.

The South African Heritage Resources Agency would like to inform you that after careful deliberation, it has decided to approve your application for a temporary export permit to export the Sandals attributed to Gandhi.

In accordance with the application received from Dr. Johnny van Schalkwyk, should any appeal against the issuing of this permit be received by SAHRA within fourteen days of the date of this permit, the permit will be suspended pending the outcome of the appeal.  SAHRA will not be held liable for any losses incurred resulting from the suspension of the permit.

The material may not be loaned to any person or institution other than the person to whom exported, without the consent of SAHRA.

It would be appreciated if copies of all publications resulting from this permit could be lodged with SAHRA.

SAHRA must be notified in writing when the work is returned to South Africa, in any event it is to be returned by no later than 20 April 2017.

The South African Heritage Resources Agency must be informed if the objects are not exported.

The South African Heritage Resources Agency shall not be held liable for any losses, damages or injuries to persons or properties as result of any activities in connection with this permit.

SAHRA reserves the right to cancel this permit, upon notice to the permit holder.
