Changes to SAHRIS!
The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

By virtue of the powers vested in Heritage Western Cape, as the provincial heritage resources authority for the province of the Western Cape, in
terms of section 27(2) of the National Heritage Resources Act, Act no. 25 of 1999, archaeological and palaeontological sites, unmarked burials, the
landscape and natural features of cultural significance and structures situated on or at portions 18 to 36 of farm Verlorenvlei no. 8, Piketberg
district, known as ‘‘The Verlorenvlei Heritage Settlement (Smit Section), and as surveyed and reflected in the diagram LG 2171/2003 held
at the offices of the Surveyor General and covering 97886m2 in extent, are hereby formally protected under section 27 of the Act bearing the provisions
of sections 34, 35 and 36 of the Act in mind.

Settlement (Smit Section), fully described in the schedule, as a Provincial Heritage Site.
